Why do you need a Will?
A properly written Will provides peace of mind, ensuring that your wishes are carried out. Passing without a Will can cause administrative complications, and your estate may not be distributed according to your preferences.
Drafting a Will ensures that you are able to pass your legacy to your loved ones; bypassing the intestacy laws that will be imposed upon your estate. If you leave your legacy without a will, you will not be able to choose which of your loved ones will be able to inherit aspects of your estate.
Preparing your estate for your loved ones with a professionally drafted Will is one of the most generous things you can do. Giving your loved ones ease of mind when it comes to inheriting your legacy.
The Process
Book an initial consultation: this can either be a phone call or home visit depending on your location within England and Wales.
Consultation: We will ask if you are sound of mind and are not making your Will under any pressure or coercion. We will then speak with you to discuss what you would like in your Will and what should not go into the Will, so that it is tailored to your circumstances. This is where you will choose your executors, beneficiaries and witness (these terms are defined below).
Drafting: your information is reviewed and the Will is drafted.
Presenting: We show you a drafted copy to see if you are happy with the Will or want to request changes.
Finalisation: The Will is completed and ready to sign.
Second Consultation: This is when you review and sign your Will in the presence of your two witnesses.
Payment: the fixed fee of £180 can be made in person via Card or BACS.
Ongoing support: Arc Wills are available to contact if you have further questions about your Will.
